Lighting

Key Light
This is the primary source of light that is mainly in front, or to the side of the subject. This lighting us used to bring out the dimensions and highlight them to form he subject. Artificial light is mostly used for this method, although natural light can be used in some cases.

Back Light
This is when the main source of light comes from behind the subject, illuminating them giving a glow effect to the edges of the subject. It is mainly used to help separate the subject from he background and is particularly helpful with busy or  uninteresting backgrounds. Artificial light, or he sun can be used for this method.

Fill Light
This type of lighting is used to reduce the amount of contrast created on the subject and produces a steady gradient of line. Fashion photographers often use key and back lights to fill and create dramatic imagery.

Below are some images which I am going to try and replica in my own way.
